Data Cloud Infrastructure....Hybrid Multi Cloud...just a few terms I had to get to know this past summer (2019). As a product marketing intern at NetApp in Sunnyvale, I was in charge of a few projects with my personal manager and got scouted by different groups to work on side projects with them. With my main Manager, Warren Wu, I started up a position called Customer Reference Manager. As Customer Reference Manager, I handled WinWire Reports from AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Through these WinWire Reports and the research that went along with them, I was able to interview and talk with representatives all of the world (from Tel Aviv to the UK). Some of my side projects during the internship included being a guest on TinT Podcast (Thriving in Technology), where I was able to explore the world of tech and the place that women can hold within companies. I was also able to work with the social team and write a series of blog posts on the NetApp Blog site about my time as an intern. I got to brand this blog and even designed and made stickers to hand out at the end of internship presentation. Being a women intern at NetApp, I got to see the ins and outs of the tech world and what it is really like to be in that corporate environment. As a women in technology, I didn't notice too much divide in the workplace. The CMO at the time of my internship, Jean English, is a strong woman in tech who showed me that I can accomplish anything as long as I try. She was a great role model and inspired me to aim higher. I feel that the technological world is quickly changing and as long as you keep yourself updated with the times, you can achieve greatness. Maybe sex and gender can come into play with different companies and change the quality of treatment you receive, but NetApp went out of their way to ensure that everyone is included and feels comfortable.
